Wine Bottle Labeling

Wine Bottle Labeling

Most wineries use the same “just in time” bottling techniques and so, even if there are different colors and sizes to the glass wine bottles, the procedure remains the same. In labeling, those procedures are translated into front and back labeling applications or wrap around. One technique that is used in slower application of pressure sensitive labeling for wine bottles is… the trap and wrap or the “spin-in place”. The spin in place is a slower application BUT gives the wineries the benefit of having a roll of labels wound with both the front & back labels on one single liner. As the spin-in place traps the bottle and spins it, it allows the front label to be placed and spins another time around to allow for the back label positioning.

However, where sequencing is a concern. If it so happens that a label is missing from the roll, the entire production can be thrown out of whack!

Tapered wine bottles or even reversed tapered wine bottles will tend to migrate towards the spin in place where as the flat edged wall glass bottles (regardless of color) benefit from a more standard approach to labeling such as a Front/back SynerG Xp200T model or a SynerG XP wrap for a portion and complete wrap around label application.
